| Tracii 400 reports "Frame Error" Wednesday 07. January 2004 Age: 8 yrs | ||
From time to time the tracii board reports a "Frame Error" when we try to write a message. What exactly does a "Frame error" mean? Can it be caused by writing something wrong to the board? A frame error means that there is an illegal condition on the bus. When Tracii 400... [more]07.01.04 17:03 Category: Tracii 400 - Fast Mode I2C Monitor and Interface |

| SDA/SCL level not low enough (due to big serial resistors) Tuesday 02. December 2003 Age: 8 yrs | ||
Some customers noticed that Tracii 400 board is unable to pull the SDA and SCL lines low enough for communication. This happened only when using small external termination resistors (about 1k Ohm). This problem is caused by two serial resistors (R5/R6) which are used to protect the SDA and SCL line ... [more]02.12.03 10:27 Category: Tracii 400 - Fast Mode I2C Monitor and Interface |

The System Management Bus is a two-wire interface through which simple power-related chips can communicate with the rest of the system. It uses I2C as its backbone A system using SMB passes messages to and from devices instead of tripping individual control lines. With the SMBus, a device can prov... | Repetition of stop condition on a high-capacitive bus Thursday 26. June 2003 Age: 9 yrs | ||
The I2C bus is an open drain bus, which means that it is very sensitive against high capacitances on the bus. If the capacitances on the bus are getting too high, this will lead to slow rising edges. Tracii 400 will read back all signals and if the the rising edge is getting too low this will cause ... [more]26.06.03 11:57 Category: Tracii 400 - Fast Mode I2C Monitor and Interface |
