Tracii XL 2.0 supports Fast-Mode Plus
Fast-Mode Plus is a new I2C standard introduced by NXP (formerly Philips Semiconductors) to allow for higher communication speed without the need for extra speed negotiation.
Please see www.i2c-bus.org/Fast-mode-Plus/ for details.
While the specification for FM+ isn't fully available yet, Tracii XL 2.0 is compliant with all known parameters of this new standard.
In particular, FM+ introduces higher termination to compensate for bus capacitance and to improve signal quality.
This means that devices need to be able to sink up to approx. 30 mA during low phases. Tracii XL can handle up to 200 mA sink current easily.
